9 months

Today Kayden had his 9 month well check. His next visit is the big 1 year. Wow! So he has grown tons in the past month. Today he measured 31 inches and 23 pounds. He is in the 99% for height and the 80% for weight.

He didn't get any shots today but he did get blood drawn to check for anemia. He wasn't very happy about that. He was all smiles and flirting until Jan poked his little foot. He just looked at her and his eyes grew big and he tears flowed. After it was all done he gave big smiles and forgave her.

Big Boy

Kayden thinks he is such the little man. He would not sit still today, he was into everything so I put him in Kaycee's camp chair, which he LOVED and was still in. Kaycee decided that she needed to get his out because it is a boy chair and she needed to sit in her pink girl chair. He was even more proud of himself for sitting in his "big boy" chair and Kaycee was proud of getting it for him.

Sneaky

Kayden has always usded his feet to get things. If he couldn't reach the toy with his hands he would reach with his feet. It is the cutest thing. Now he has figured out he can use his toes just like mommy. He is always trying to grab the keyboard while we are sitting at the computer. When I hold his hands back he reaches and kicks it with his feet. It is so much fun trying to type with feet hitting keys. Now he grabs the cord with his toes and pulls the keyboard off of the desk. Little sneaky stinker.

Happy Birthday Ames

We hope you have a wonderful day. We love you!

First Day

Today was Kayden's first day without mommy. I was a little nervous but I knew he would do well. It is just hard when you watch them every second of the day and night and respond to their needs and then just hand them over to someone else to watch for a few hours.

Kerri had me take some time in "the mommy role" to get myself and Kayden acquainted to the Infant Room and whole situation. He didn't care if I was there. As soon as I walked in the room he wanted down to play and then as soon as he was down he was off flirting with the girls and playing with everyone. He was so cute. He crawled over to the soft laying area and went and rolled on the cushions while batting his eyes at his teacher and then went off to play. He didn't even care that I left the room.

I was nervous the whole time that when I heard crying it was him. I would ask how he was doing and everyone was saying what a good time he was having and what a good boy he is. When they were taking pictures he would sit still and pose and smile. So wonderful, he loves his classroom but now isn't he going to want mom? No. I walked in the room to get him and started talking to his teacher and as soon as he heard my voice he turned from playing, looked up at me with a huge smile, started crawling to me and reached for me. It was so cute. It is nice having a calm child who loves to be away from you for a while but is excited for your return. It was adorable.

I am also excited that Denise P. is his teacher.
