Today was Kayden's first day without mommy. I was a little nervous but I knew he would do well. It is just hard when you watch them every second of the day and night and respond to their needs and then just hand them over to someone else to watch for a few hours.
Kerri had me take some time in "the mommy role" to get myself and Kayden acquainted to the Infant Room and whole situation. He didn't care if I was there. As soon as I walked in the room he wanted down to play and then as soon as he was down he was off flirting with the girls and playing with everyone. He was so cute. He crawled over to the soft laying area and went and rolled on the cushions while batting his eyes at his teacher and then went off to play. He didn't even care that I left the room.
I was nervous the whole time that when I heard crying it was him. I would ask how he was doing and everyone was saying what a good time he was having and what a good boy he is. When they were taking pictures he would sit still and pose and smile. So wonderful, he loves his classroom but now isn't he going to want mom? No. I walked in the room to get him and started talking to his teacher and as soon as he heard my voice he turned from playing, looked up at me with a huge smile, started crawling to me and reached for me. It was so cute. It is nice having a calm child who loves to be away from you for a while but is excited for your return. It was adorable.
I am also excited that Denise P. is his teacher.
