18 Months and Nursery!

Kayden turned 18 months on the 5th and I have never been so excited for this day to come....today was his first day of nursery and he LOVED it. So did I. It is so hard to teach the Beehive girls and have him everywhere. For the past month he has stopped taking his naps during Sunday school and young women's and just runs and gets into everything. It was nice to have him go into nursery WITHOUT a struggle or tear and have fun. He had fun and then was ready when it was over to come home. What a good little guy. Totally opposite of his sister who still sheds tears going to her class.

He is getting so talkative and more inquisitive. He loves to figure things out. He has been trying to walk down the stairs instead of crawling and has fallen a few times. The worst was a couple weeks ago when he had his bottle in his mouth. His top teeth went through his bottom lip and he cut the skin inside the top of his mouth on his front lip. He was bleeding and crying hysterically. It wasn't even an hour later he was trying to walk down the stairs again. He does pretty good with the railing but he can't reach the bottom rail.

Today was also the primary program and he went up front, sat on his sisters lap and sang along with the primary. He was so proud, he was a big boy along side of sister.

He is so much fun and so much work and growing too fast. He is such the brute beating up on his sister and ramming anything and anyone with his head. It is funny to watch the two. Kaycee is so much bigger but he is so much stronger. In a wrestling match he beats her all of the time. They can get pretty rowdy and loud but they are fun to watch play together.

My big boy at 16.5 months!

Wow, it has been awhile since I wrote about my little man. He is growing up so fast. I can't believe Kayd is almost 17 months old. He gets better everyday with talking. He has always been a pro at Hi and he LOVES the phone. He starts out converstaions with "hi" and "what doin." He talks up a storm on the phone and actually says words. Last night on the phone when we were coming back from the concert he said "wa oo" for love you. He has always loved to point and now adds words to it like "that" and sounds for cars and animals. He knows what sounds the sheep, cows, dogs, ducks donkey and frogs make. The cutest sounds he has made was the other day when Isaac was singing a song to the kids, it goes something like "see the little donkey at the break of day, if you forget to feed him this is what he'll say; he ha, he ha, he ha he ha he ha." He sings, "ah ah, ah ah, ah ah ah ah." He gets the tune down perfectly. He loves to sing to. It is so cute to hear him sing along with Kaycee and everyone.

He LOVES to play horsey. He rides mom and dads back and has fun BUT thinks it is so much more fun climbing on Kaycee's back when she is on the floor.

He loves to jump and dance and play keep away. He is a little tease and getting very independent. We went to a Vet clinic open house in Park City and he walked around with his hands behind his back checking out all of the animals and the new facility.

First Haircut

This is his hair when he wakes up big and fuzzy!

When it is fixed. It was over his ears and in the back his hair was to his shoulders.

Kayden's hair is getting so long. I didn't want to cut it because his little curls are so adorable but he needed one bad. It got so long I could pull it up in pony tails. So, today I did it. It was hard because he wouldn't sit still but we did it. He looks so cute. I didn't cut it too short because he is still a baby and baby's need baby haircuts so no buzzing it or big boy haircuts but it is adorable if I do say so myself and he still looks his age.

Big Helper

Kayden is such a sweetheart. Today I was washing dishes and he brought me dirty cups from the table. What a big helper. He likes to follow me around helping me clean. The only bad part is that he sees me plug in the vacuum and tries to plug it in. He is growing up so fast and is such a loving little guy.

Say what, say what?

I worry about Kayden because I don't know if he can't hear me or he chooses not to listen. I can talk and talk to him and he ignores me. Do I get his ears checked? Does he have a hearing problem? So, I try little things to see if I do need to take him in. Can he hear? Yes! Does he tune me out? Yes! What a little stinker. I was talking to Sara and Kayden kept staring at her. We kept trying to talk to him but he just stared at Sara. Right next to his ear I said, "Kayden" and he just stared at Sara. I said "Kayden" a little louder and he just kept staring at Sara. Finally I said, "Kayden look at mommy" kind of loud and rough and he looked at me and smiled like, "I heard you, I chose to ignore you." What a stinker. So the end results, he is a typical male who chooses to respond when he is good and ready. My goal is to nip this in the bud now because he will not be a typical guy. He WILL learn to listen to others especially his wife in the future!

Teeth, teeth and more teeth

Kayden can't just get one tooth at a time, two even but four. The first top teeth took forever to pop through but this time there were no problems. His bottom left tooth broke open through the gums on Friday and by the evening it was all the way out. Then on Sunday May 31st we could see his bottom left incisor started popping through on the way to Castle Dale to visit Isaac's mom because she wasn't doing to well and by the time we were driving home that evening it had came through. June was tooth number 3 on the top and July was tooth number 4. He seems to have a harder time on the top but one a month was a lot faster then his other four. Now he is so happy to have all of his front teeth in because he can eat more food.

Ta Dah!

Kayden has got this word down. I even got him to lift his arms up as he says it. I think Nana started it so I've been practicing it with him. He just laughs and laughs after he does it. What a doll! My little guy is growing so fast. Every second with him is such a delight. He has us in stitches every day with the fun things he does. We can't get over his loves. He loves to cuddle. He will just reach for us to lay his head on our shoulders, cuddle for a minute or so and then he is off. His little waddle it so much fun to watch. He LOVES to walk even when he is slipping on the kitchen floor in his socks.

My Handsome Boy

Kayden was so good at the graduation reception but towards the end you could tell he was done. We wanted to get some pictures before graduation because we knew it would be crazy so we hurried to get some at the Alumni Center. He was NOT happy. After a few shots a lady saw us and opened the Alumni Center so we could get the kids a drink. We found the drinking fountain and he slurped forever. She also brought him a bottle of water that he downed in seconds. After his water he was good to go. I love these shots of him. It shows his fun personality.
